24-hours of food innovation. 100 participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Finland, Netherlands, Croatia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Saudi Arabia. New ideas for more sustainable food industry solutions. This is what the Future of Food Hackathon was all about.
My keynote speech was entitled “The delicate art of repairing an airplane whilst flying it,” a metaphor for the state of our current food system. We need to both repair and rebuild the way we farm, fish and harvest our food as well as the way we eat. Innovation and entrepreneurship plays an important role in imagining and realising how our society can be different. It was a pleasure to be in the company of 100 young people and aspiring entrepreneurs. You can learn more about their ideas and the winners of the Hackathon here.
A special thanks to Nordic Council of Ministers Latvia for inviting me!
